The Ministerial Physical Activity Forum (MPAF) was created in February 2003 by the South Australian Government to address the issues associated with decreasing levels of physical activity.
The MPAF is responsible for
- Providing (government with) policy direction in relation to increasing the levels of physical activity amongst the South Australian population
- Ensuring a commitment to and resources to improving the level of physical activity amongst the South Australian population as a whole, as well as subgroups with a high prevalence of physical inactivity
- Overseeing and facilitating the collaborative implementation of the Physical Activity Strategy for South Australia
The MPAF, chaired by Minister Michael Wright, is comprised of the Ministers responsible for Education, Health, Transport, Planning, Local Government, Tourism, Families and Communities and Recreation and Sport.
