Business SA Statewide Changes and Challenges Conference

Members of the Physical Activity Branch at the Office for Recreation and Sport recently ran a workshop at Buisness SA's Statewide Changes and Challenges Annual Conference.

The workshop discussed proactive and practical ways to confront the challenges of an ageing workforce and rapid changes in technology through the be active Workplace Project.

Participants came away from the session with an understanding that effective approaches to get people active in the workplace setting require a comprehensive approach. This includes targeting employers with organisational change strategies as well as strategies to support employees to be active at work. A range of practical tools were offered to workshop participants to support implementing a comprehensive approach.

Children's be activator

be active Playtime

be active PlayTime

be active PlayTime is a physical activity/physical play program for children aged 0 to 5 developed by the Office for Recreation and Sport (ORS).

be active PlayTime is a play-based program because it is widely believed that much of children’s early learning occurs through play. Although children have different learning styles, most love to play. This program utilises the child’s innate desire to play and it offers plenty of ideas that will help children acquire crucial fundamental movement skills.

The program directly targets children and parents, and provides an opportunity to deliver activities in a range of environments i.e. playgroups, community events, community centres, kindergartens, childcare centres, etc.
